I decided after creating my first successful needle felted dog (Needle Felting Success!) that I would try again, this time working on the dog’s stability and looks. To make it look more like a dog and not a polar bear, I worked with brown wool roving and made it plumper than I had last time to make the dog look more realistic.
While it is getting easier each time I do it and it feels more natural to maneouvre the wool, I still find it hard to manipulate the wool into the required shape and use the right amount of wool for each part. For example, I find that I don’t put enough wool into the head but too much into the small parts such as the nose, mouth and ears. Overall, I really like needle felting and find that this pattern has conquered my fear. I can’t wait to find more projects to needle felt!
